Biography in Pictures: Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

SRI RAMAKRISHNA : a Biography in Pictures published by Advaita Ashrama, 5 Delhi Entally road, Kolkata. ISBN: 81-7505-131-0. Rs. 130/-
"In a Narrow society there is depth & intensity of spirituality. The Narrow stream is very rapid. In a catholic society, along with the breadth of vision we find a proportionate loss in depth & intensity. But the life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa upsets all records of history. It is a remarkable phenomenon that in Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa there has been an assemblage of ideas deeper than the sea & vaster than the skies.
Such a unique personality, such a synthesis of the utmost of Jnana, Yoga, Bhakti & Karma, has never before appeared among mankind. The Life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa proves that the greatest breadth, the highest catholicity & the utmost intensity can exist side by side in the same individual, & that society also can be contructed like that for society is nothing but an aggregate of individual. The formation of such a perfect character is the ideal of this age." - Swami Vivekananda (about Sri Ramakrishna)

Namaste sir,
Good to know that you are a volunteer at ashrama. I am an ex-student of SRKVS and work in Bangalore.

Currently due to work pressure i have been unable to set aside my time for updating the blogs etc. There are several sites dedicated to Shri Ramakrishna etc. But there is a lot of material available at the maths which is yet to be published and made available. Web is a much cheaper way of publishing these things.

I think there is group access to blog and i dont mind giving you rigths to update the Ramakrishna blog. Can you take the responsibality of adding the details of programmes conducted at the Mysore ashrama. Such as programme announcements, extracts from the speeches of swamijis there at various programmes, their service activitites and some of the pictures etc.

One of the devotees gave me some old pictures of Bangalore ashrama, of rev. Yatishwaranandaji etc. I am planning to put them one after the other on the blog site. But they should be accompanied with teachigns of swamijis etc.

As i have little more workpressure, i am unable to act on many of these ideas i have. Many of the pages related to RKM at www.wikipedia.com were created by me [prominents monks of order and presidents of order etc]. But still lot and lots need to be added. I lack the information and necessary skills. It will be nice if you can co-ordinate and motivate some of the young volunteers to write and they can be published at say wikipedia etc.

I am also planning to put on blog some kannada articles in unicode. Lets see how things take shape.

Keep mailing, if you need any help regarding computers etc, do let me know.
I recommend you to join vivekananda centre, London's mailing list if you dont subscribe to it already.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Ramakrishna/ is their home page.
